Bahadurabad (Urdu:بہادر آباد) is one of the neighbourhoods ofGulshan Town,Karachi,Sindh,Pakistan. It is located in the Civic Centre zone in theGulshan Town. It was originally inhabited by mainly middle-classHyderabadiMuhajirs, who migrated fromHyderabad Deccan (nowHyderabad,Telangana,India) after thecreation of Pakistan in 1947, and mainly afterIndia's annexation of Hyderabad in 1948.[1]
Bahadurabad neighbourhood in Karachi is named after the noted freedom fighterBahadur Yar Jung (1905–1944), a Muslim nationalist and a prominent member of thePakistan Movement from Hyderabad Deccan.[2] In 2007, a replica of the famousCharminar monument ofOld City of Hyderabad, was constructed on the main crossing of Bahadurabad.[3][4]
