TheBagatti Valsecchi Museum is ahistoric house museum in theMontenapoleone district ofdowntown Milan,northern Italy.
The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum's permanent collections principally containItalian Renaissancedecorative arts (such asmaiolica,furniture,tapestry,metalwork, leather,glassware and precious table-top coffers made ofivory, or “stucco andpastiglia”), some sculptures (including aMadonna and Child lunette by a follower ofDonatello), and many paintings. European Renaissance weapons,armor, clocks and a fewtextiles and scientific andmusical instruments complete the collection assembled by the Barons Bagatti Valsecchi, and displayed in their home, as per their wishes.
The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, although originally intended as a private home, not a gallery, has an interesting collection of Italian Renaissance paintings. A few are from theTrecento/14th century and theSeicento/17th century, but most date to theQuattrocento/15th century, or theCinquecento/16th century. They include:
