Babra is atown and thetaluka headquarter in theAmreli district,Gujarat,India. It is situated to the north ofAmreli. The main road linkingRajkot andBhavnagar andAmreli passes through Babra.
Babra is said to have been the capital ofBabruvahana, the son ofArjuna, one of the fivePandavas.Babhruvahana's Kund (stepwell) also known as Panch Kund is still here, and theKalubhar River has its source there. It was the seat of Kathiawar Agencythana during British period. Babra was held by the Dafada Kathis.[1]
