BPL is the call sign of the official long-wavetime signal service of thePeople's Republic of China, operated by theChinese Academy of Sciences, broadcasting on 100 kHz from CAS'sNational Time Service Center[1] inPucheng County, Shaanxi at34°56′54″N109°32′34″E / 34.94833°N 109.54278°E /34.94833; 109.54278,[2] roughly 70 km northeast ofLintong,[3] along with NTSC's short-wave time signalBPM on 2.5, 5.0, 10.0, and 15.0MHz.

BPL broadcastsLORAN-C compatible format signal from 5:30 to 13:30 UTC,[4] using an 800 kW transmitter covering a radius up to 3,000 km.[5]
