Bánh khoai mì is aVietnamesecake made from gratedcassava,sugar,coconut milk, and a small amount ofsalt.[1]

There are two varieties:

  • Bánh khoai mì nướng - baked
  • Bánh khoai mì hấp - steamed (much less common)

A similar cake made fromtaro is calledbánh khoai môn.

Bánh khoai mì is similar to thecassava cake of thePhilippines. The Filipino dish, however, differs in its top layer, which is traditionallycustard, and in its use ofmilk as an ingredient.[2]
