Avery Young (born November 12, 1992) is an American professionalfootballoffensive tackle. He playedcollege football atAuburn, and was signed by theNew Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He is also the younger brother of formerdefensive endWillie Young.

At Auburn University, Young was a three-year starter at both tackle and guard and served as the starting right tackle during his senior year.

New Orleans Saints

Young signed with theNew Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016.[3] He suffered a knee injury at his Pro Day and spent his entire rookie season on the Saints' non-football injury list. On February 27, 2017, Young was released by the Saints.[4]

Miami Dolphins

On March 21, 2017, Young signed with theMiami Dolphins.[5] He was waived on September 2, 2017.[6]

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

On December 20, 2017, Young was signed to theTampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad.[7] He signed a reserve/future contract with the Buccaneers on January 3, 2018.[8] He was waived on April 30, 2018.[9]

Seattle Seahawks

On May 7, 2018, Young signed with theSeattle Seahawks.[10] He was waived/injured on August 1, 2018 and placed on injured reserve.[11] He was released on August 14, 2018.[12]

Birmingham Iron

In 2019, Young joined theBirmingham Iron of theAlliance of American Football.[13]

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

After the AAF ceased operations in April 2019, Young signed with theHamilton Tiger-Cats of theCanadian Football League.

St. Louis BattleHawks

In October 2019, Young was picked by theSt. Louis BattleHawks in the open phase of the2020 XFL draft.[14]

New York Guardians

On January 17, 2020, Young was traded to theNew York Guardians, along with offensive linemanDejon Allen, in exchange for cornerbackDavid Rivers and offensive linemanBrian Wallace.[15] He had his contract terminated when the league suspended operations on April 10, 2020.[16]

The Spring League

Young was selected by the Conquerors ofThe Spring League during its player selection draft on October 11, 2020.[17] His contract was terminated when the league suspended operations in 2021.

Vegas Vipers

Young was selected by theVegas Vipers in the2023 XFL draft.
