Autosadism, orautomasochism, is behaviour inflictingpain orhumiliation on oneself. It may be related toself-harm^[1]^[2] or aparaphilia involvingsexual arousal.^[3] It can be viewed as a form ofmasochism,^[4] asublimated form of sadism, or a means to experiencingalgolagnia, a sexual tendency which is defined by deriving sexual pleasure and stimulation from physical pain.^[5]
