Ausberto García (9 February 1934 – 11 December 2017) was a Bolivianfootballer who played as aforward.
He took part in the1959 (Argentina),[1]1963[2] and1967[3] editions of theCopa America, winning the1963 tournament on home soil.
Ausberto García played 19 games and scored 5 goals forBolivia.[4] His first cap and first goal was on 29 September 1957 during a1958 FIFA World Cup qualification game againstChile.[5]
García was in Bolivia'ssquad for the1959 South American Championship, playing four games and scoring once (his second personal goal for Bolivia) againstBrazil.[6]
García was also in Bolivia'ssquad for the1963 South American Championship that took place on home soil. During the tournament, he played five games and scored three times (his third, fourth and fifth personal goals for Bolivia) againstPeru,Paraguay and Brazil as Bolivia won its first and onlyCopa America.[7] The goal against Brazil was his last with Bolivia.[8]
His last competition was the1967 South American Championship where he played four games.[9] The game against Chile on 1 February was his last cap with Bolivia.
García died on 11 December 2017, at the age of 83.[10]
