Athyras (Ancient Greek:Ἀθύρας) was aGreek[1][2] city inancient Thrace, located in the region of thePropontis.

Its site has been located near the modern Turkish city ofBüyükçekmece.[3][4]

Under the name Athyra, it is atitular see of both theEastern Orthodox Church andRoman Catholic Church.[5][6]
