Astrid Timmermann-Fechter (born 22 June 1963) is a German politician for theCDU and since 2021 a member of theBundestag, the federal diet.

Early life and career

Timmermann-Fechter was born in 1963 in the West German town ofMarl, North Rhine-Westphalia. After completing her Abitur and studying law, she became a self-employed entrepreneur, running her own event and marketing business. Additionally, she served as the district manager of the CDU inMülheim an der Ruhr and worked as a political and strategy advisor. She has been a member of the CDU since 1998, serving as local branch chairwoman from 2000 to 2014. From 2005 to 2013, she was the deputy district treasurer of the CDU and from 2005 to 2014 the district chairwoman of the Evangelical Working Group (EAK). Furthermore, she was a member of the EAK NRW state board from 2007 to 2013.[1]

She was a member of the Bundestag from 2013 to 2017 and again since 2021.[2]
