Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate (Arabic:مُحَافَظَة جَنُوب ٱلشَّرْقِيَّة,romanized: Muḥāfaẓat Janūb aš-Šarqīyah,English:Southeastern Governorate) is agovernorate ofOman. It was created on 28 October 2011 whenAsh Sharqiyah Region was split intoAsh Sharqiyah North Governorate and Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate.[1][2][3] The centre of the governorate is the Wilayat ofSur.
