Artiodus is anextinctgenus ofcartilaginous fish from thePermian period. The name comes from the type locality, theArti River, combined with theGreek word for "tooth." It is currentlymonotypic, containing only the speciesArtiodus prominens from theEarly Permian of theMiddle Urals of Russia. As with manyPaleozoicchondrichthyian genera, its affinities are unclear at this time.[1]
