Arteche (IPA:[arˈtɛtʃe]), officially theMunicipality of Arteche (Waray:Bungto han Arteche;Tagalog:Bayan ng Arteche), is amunicipality in theprovince ofEastern Samar,Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 16,360 people.[5]
In the southeast, it is bounded bySan Policarpo, to the south byOras. To the north, it is bounded byPacific Ocean and in the north-west byLapinig, and a neighbor of Maslog.
Arteche was created in 1950 from the barrios of San Ramon, Carapdapan, Beri, Tangbo, Catumsan, Bego, Concepcion, Casidman, Tawagan, and Tibalawon of theMunicipality of Oras.[6]
Arteche is politically subdivided into 20barangays. [7] Each barangay consists ofpuroks and some havesitios.

In the 2020 census, the population of Arteche, Eastern Samar, was 16,360 people,[14] with a density of 96 inhabitants per square kilometre or 250 inhabitants per square mile.
