Art Daley (bornArthur James Lunkenheimer; August 16, 1916 – February 19, 2011) was an Americansportswriter who is best known for his over 60 years covering theGreen Bay Packers of theNational Football League from 1941 to 2011.
Daley grew up inFond du Lac, Wisconsin, and served in theUnited States Army duringWorld War II.
Daley served as a sports writer for theGreen Bay Press-Gazette for 21 years. He was a charter member of thePro Football Hall of Fame selection committee, serving on it until 1998. Along with Jack Yuenger, Daley founded the Green Bay Packers Yearbook in 1960, and was an original member of both the board of directors and the selection committee of theGreen Bay Packers Hall of Fame. In 1978, Daley joined "Packer Report", where he was a writer until his death.[1]
Daley was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame as a contributor in 1993,[2] and in 1977 was awarded theDick McCann Memorial Award from thePro Football Hall of Fame.[3]
