Thearrondissement of Albi is anarrondissement of France in theTarndepartment in theOccitanieregion. ItsINSEE code is 811 and itscapital city isAlbi. It has 163 communes.[2] Its population is 195,484 (2021), and its area is 2,731.7 km2 (1,054.7 sq mi).[3] It is the northernmost of thearrondissements of the department.
The main cities, with more than 5,000 inhabitants in 2012, in the arrondissement areAlbi (49,231 inhabitants),Gaillac (13,820 inhabitants),Carmaux (9,774 inhabitants),Saint-Juéry (6,715 inhabitants) andRabastens (5,187 inhabitants).[4]
Thearrondissement of Albi is bordered to the north by theTarn-et-Garonne (Occitanie) department, to the west by theAveyron (Occitanie) department, to the south by thearrondissement of Castres and to the south by theHaute-Garonne (Occitanie) department.
