Thespecific name,arnoldi, is in honor of British herpetologistEdwin Nicholas "Nick" Arnold.[2]
H. arnoldi is found in northwestern Somalia.[3]
The preferredhabitats ofH. arnoldi are rocky areas andshrubland, at an altitude of 500 m (1,600 ft).[1]
H. arnoldi is large for itsgenus, and it is stout. Theholotype, an adult female, has a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 8.2 cm (3.2 in).[4]
