Arjan Ederveen Janssen (born 9 September 1956 inAmsterdam) is a Dutch actor, comedian, TV scriptwriter and TV director. He participated in the TV seriesTheo en Thea,Kreatief met Kurk and30 minuten and played in themusicalsHairspray andLang en Gelukkig. He wrote the playMoord in de Kerststal.[1] Ederveen owns a TV production company, calledDe Toko. His manager is Evelien Jansen.
Ederveen studied at the Academie voor Kleinkunst and graduated in 1981.
Between 1981 and 1984 he starred as half of the comedic duoDe Duos, which he formed together withKees Prins. He played abellboy in theCheech and Chong filmStill Smokin' (1983). In 1984 he played the role ofTheo in the children's TV seriesTheo en Thea (1985-1989), alongsideTosca Niterink. He reprised this role in the filmTheo en Thea en de Ontmaskering van het Tenenkaasimperium (1989), directed byPieter Kramer.
In the 1990s Ederveen made themockumentary TV seriesKreatief met Kurk (1993-1994),30 minuten (1995-1996) andBorreltijd (1996), in which he also played recurring roles. All shows were critically praised.[citation needed]30 Minuten in particular earned him and directorPieter Kramer theZilveren Nipkowschijf and theGouden Kalf. He played the part of Charl Diepenhoef inFilmpje! (1995) and played in Doctor Feelgood inMy Foolish Heart (2018).
In the 2000s he took part in several children's films, including the choreographer inYes Nurse! No Nurse! (2002), chemist Geelman inPietje Bell (2002), Mr. Pen and a hermit inPluk van de Petteflet (2004) and Professor Lupardi inKapitein Rob en het Geheim van Professor Lupardi (2007).[1] In 200130 minuten received a follow-up:25 minuten. In 2005 he also made the garden showWroeten.[1]

As a voice actor, Ederveen provided the voice of Rex in the Dutch version of theToy Story franchise. He also dubbedGonzo inThe Muppets andMuppets Most Wanted as well as Vlad in theHotel Transylvania franchise.
He appeared in the 2024 season of the television showThe Masked Singer.
Ederveen's mother, Greetje van Schaik, was a theater actress. She appeared in the popular radio showDe bonte dinsdagavondtrein. Ederveen's brothers both died young, respectively ofAIDS and a rareblood disease.[2]
Ederveen is openly gay and has an American husband, Howie.[2][3] Ederveen isdyslexic andcolour blind.[4] He identifies himself as anatheist.[2]
