Pan American Games appearances (overview)

Argentina competed in the2019 Pan American Games inLima,Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019.[2][3]

On May 24, 2019, sailorJavier Conte was named as the country's flag bearer during theopening ceremony.[4]

One of the most successful Argentina participations in the history of Pan American Games, the country crossed the mark of 100 medals for first time since1995 Games which they hosted. It was also the third time to do so and the first to do in a Games which they didn't host. The 33-gold medal tally was the third highest for Argentina in the history, just only being surpassed by the 1951 and 1995 performances.

Argentina qualified a men's team of 24 athletes by winning the 2018 South American Championships. This marked the first time the country qualified for the sport at thePan American Games. The previous two times Argentina competed, it was because it was awarded a host spot in 1951 and 1995.[9]
