Area code 915 is a telephonearea code in theNorth American Numbering Plan for the area aroundEl Paso, Texas, U.S. It is one of theoriginal North American area codes established in October 1947, when it was assigned to the north-western part of the state, north ofAustin and west ofFort Worth, and stretched from theOklahoma border to theMexican border.

Prior to October 2021, area code 915 had telephone numbers assigned for thecentral office code 988. In 2020,988 was designated nationwide as a dialing code for theNational Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which created a conflict for exchanges that permitseven-digit dialing. This area code was therefore scheduled to transition toten-digit dialing by October 24, 2021.[1]
