Area code 734 is a telephonearea code in theNorth American Numbering Plan (NANP) in southeastMichigan. It was created in 1997 in anarea code split of313.^[1] Thenumbering plan area (NPA) comprises all ofWashtenaw andMonroe counties, and southern and western portions ofWayne County. It includesAnn Arbor,Ypsilanti,Saline,Chelsea,Milan,Belleville,Garden City,Wayne,Westland,Livonia,Canton,Pinckney,Plymouth,Plymouth Township,Monroe, Petersburg,Bedford,Romulus,Huron Township and the remainder ofDownriver south of a border formed by Goddard Road inTaylor and the northern borders of the cities ofSouthgate andWyandotte. Area code 734 also serves the west side of the city ofInkster.

Area code 734 drew publicity after the release of theJuice WRLD song "734".

In October 2025, theNorth American Numbering Plan Administrator projected that the area code will exhaust in the first quarter of 2040.^[2]
