Archaeodontosaurus ("ancient-toothed lizard") is agenus ofsauropoddinosaur from theMiddle Jurassic. Its fossils were found in theIsalo III Formation ofMadagascar. Thetype species,Archaeodontosaurus descouensi, was described in September 2005. Thespecific name honours the collector,Didier Descouens. It is a probable sauropod, withprosauropod-like teeth.[1] It may be a basal member ofGravisauria.[2][3][4]
