Antonio Castejón Espinosa (1896,Manila – 1969) was a Spanisharmy officer from theArmy of Africa who fought for theNationalists in theSpanish Civil War. He was born in thePhilippines which was a Spanish colony.
At the start of the Civil WarMajor Castejón's unit of theSpanish Legion joined the rebels and took control ofTetuán inSpanish Morocco. In August 1936 he commanded one of the fourNationalist columns thattook Badajoz by storm.[1] He was present at the subsequentrelief ofToledo and was wounded in thefighting aroundMadrid. Promoted to Colonel in 1937.
Castejón was given command of the 102nddivision of theArmy of Andalusia during theBattle of the Ebro. He was promoted toGeneral at war's end. From 1939 to 1942, he commanded the Tercio «Duque de Alba» of the Spanish Foreign Legion.
