Anthropological Quarterly is a widely readpeer-reviewed journal covering topics insocial andcultural anthropology. It is housed at theGeorge Washington UniversityInstitute for Ethnographic Research.[1]
Anthropological Quarterly was founded in 1921 byJohn Montgomery Cooper ofThe Catholic University of America and was published by The Catholic University of America Press from 1921 to 1953 under the namePrimitive Man.[2][1] Since 2001, the journal has been published by theGeorge Washington University Institute for Ethnographic Research.[1]
The journal publishes articles, social thought and commentary essays on timely political and social issues, book reviews, and book review essays.
As of 2022[update] the journal is edited byRoy Richard Grinker.[3]
