Anthro New England (ANE) is afurry convention that is held annually in theGreater Boston area of the U.S. state ofMassachusetts. It was first held in 2015 inCambridge, Massachusetts, but moved intoBoston in 2018 at theBoston Park Plaza. Due to theCOVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 event was held online.[1] Since 2020, Anthro New England has become one of the top ten furry conventions in the world.[2] Anthro New England moved to a larger venue, theWestin Boston Seaport District hotel for 2023. The latest event in 2025 reached a new attendance record of 5,761 attendees.[‡ 1]

History

Anthro New England was organized in 2014 with the goal of hosting afurry convention inGreater Boston.[3] Their first event was held from February 27 to March 1, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge inCambridge, Massachusetts. During the first convention, 165 people took part in thefursuit parade.

By 2018, Anthro New England had become one of the largest annual furry conventions in the United States,[3] with the 2019 event attracting over 2,000 attendees.[4] From 2022 to 2025, Anthro New England's attendance has increased by over one thousand each year, remaining in the top ten largest furry conventions in the world.[2]
