Anthony Lancelot Dias (14 March 1910 — 22 September 2002),[1][2] also known asA. L. Dias was anIndian Civil Service officer and politician ofGoan origin. Dias was born inBombay and was in theMaharashtra cadre. He was awarded thePadma Vibhushan in 1970 for his management of a drought inBihar. He also played a role in theliberation of Goa from thePortuguese rule. Dias was the Lieutenant governor ofTripura from 1969 to 1971. He was the Governor ofWest Bengal from 1971 to 1977.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
