Anta is one of thirteenprovinces in theCusco Region in the southern highlands ofPeru.
TheWillkapampa mountain range traverses the province. The highest peak of the province isSallqantay at 6,271 metres (20,574 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[1]

The people in the province are mainlyindigenous citizens ofQuechua descent.Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (70.28%) learnt to speak in childhood, 29.35% of the residents started speaking inSpanish.[2]
