Anson Frericks (bornc. 1984[2]) is an American business executive. From 2011 to 2022, he worked forAnheuser-Busch Inbev and was president ofAnheuser-Busch Sales & Distribution Co.[3][4]

Early life

Frericks attendedSt. Xavier High School inCincinnati, Ohio from 1998 to 2002.[2] He enrolled atYale University from 2002 to 2006, graduating with a double major in history and political science. He played varsitylacrosse at Yale and was elected team captain for the 2005–2006 season.[5] From 2006 to 2009, he worked as an associate atSummit Partners. During business school, he interned atCitadel. In 2011, Frericks obtained an MBA fromHarvard Business School.[6]

Career

After graduating from HBS, Frericks joinedAnheuser-Busch Inbev. He worked there from 2011 to 2022, finishing his career as president of Anheuser-Busch Sales & Distribution Co.[7]

Afterwards, he helped launchStrive Asset Management,[8][9] a financial company.[10][11] He co-founded Strive with a friend from high school,Vivek Ramaswamy.[12] Frericks is the co-founder and president of Strive.[13][14] Strive now manages over $1 billion of assets.[15]

As Anheuser-Busch's former president of sales, during the aftermath of the2023 Bud Light boycott, Frericks has repeatedly given interviews inFox Business and other media outlets[16][17] commenting on Anheuser-Busch's failure to remediate the brand's public perception and declining sales.[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25] He has called for Anheuser-Busch's current CEO of North America, Brendan Whitworth, to step down as a path to improve the long-term profitability of the business.

Previously, as co-founder and president ofStrive Asset Management, Anson wrote toSalesforce CEOMarc Benioff, criticizing his commitment to stakeholder capitalism while Salesforce earnings missed analyst expectations.[9][26] He appeared onCNBC and other media outlets to discuss his letter.[27]

In February 2025, Frericks published a book titledLast Call for Bud Light: The Fall and Future of America's Favorite Beer.[28][29]
