Anne-Lise Tangstad Clausen (February 6, 1935 – December 13, 1981) was aNorwegian actress.[1][2][3]
Tangstad made her debut in 1954 in the musicalSouth Pacific at theCentral Theater, where she later worked from 1957 to 1958. After that she was at the People's Theater (Folketeatret) from 1958 to 1959 and at theOslo New Theater from 1959 to 1970, after which she worked freelance. On the stage, she particularly made a name for herself as Sofia inAnton Chekhov'sPlatanov, Hazel inEugene O'Neill'sMourning Becomes Electra, Helen in Shakespeare'sTwelfth Night, Mrs. Krane inKranes konditori, and Guriana inOskar Braaten'sUngen.[1]
She also appeared in a number of films, and in 1958 she played the leading role in the filmI slik en natt as a young doctor who is at the head of a rescue operation in which the children of a Jewish orphanage in Oslo are saved from the Gestapo during the Second World War.[4] She also played one of the two main roles inFør frostnettene (1965).
