Anna Maria Monticelli is an Australian actress, screenwriter and producer.[1]
Monticelli won the 1984AFI Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role inSilver City.[2][3] In 2001 she was nominated for theAFI Award for Best Original Screenplay forLa Spagnola.[4] At the 2008Australian Writers Guild Awards (AWGIES) she won the best feature film adaptation for her screenplay ofJ. M. Coetzee'sDisgrace.[1] At theFilm Critics Circle of Australia Awards she won the 2010 Award for Best Screenplay forDisgrace and was nominated for Best Film in 2010 (producer) forDisgrace and for Best Screenplay - Original in 2002 forLa Spagnola.
Monticelli is married to actor and directorSteve Jacobs who directedLa Spagnola andDisgrace.[5]
