Anna Haugh (born 6 November 1980) is an Irishchef, restaurateur and TV personality.

Biography

Born in Dublin, Haugh grew up inTallaght. She attended Presentation Secondary School inTerenure and trained on a professional cookery course at theTU Dublin School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology in Dublin.[1][2] She began her career in the city, withDerry Clarke ofL'Ecrivain. Haugh then moved to London where she worked withPhilip Howard, Shane Osborn andGordon Ramsay. Haugh also worked withGualtiero Marchesi in Paris.

In May 2019, she founded the Myrtle Restaurant inChelsea, London, named afterMyrtle Allen, IrishMichelin star-winninghead chef and co-founder ofBallymaloe House.[3][4][5]

Media career

Haugh's first documented role in television was inBBC's The Stress Test (2004) while working atPied à Terre with Shane Osborn. She appeared as a guest judge onGordon Ramsey's U.S. showHell's Kitchen[4] in 2013 and was a chef onBBC'sReady Steady Cook[3] presented byRylan Clark-Neal.

Haugh co-presented two seasons ofBBC's Royal Recipes withMichael Buerk, has appeared as a guest judge onMasterchef withJohn Torode andGregg Wallace and as a guest onSunday Brunch withSimon Rimmer andTim Lovejoy. She has also appeared as a guest on Tastemade with Numra Siddiqui.

In 2020 Anna competed in and won an episode ofChannel 4'sSnackmasters againstMichelin starred chefAktar Islam.

Anna regularly appears onSaturday Kitchen and is a resident chef onMorning Live[1] withKym Marsh andGethin Jones.

Haugh was the guest chef who set the dish challenges for the contestants on theBBC'sCelebrity Masterchef, in the 11th episode (Series 17) which was broadcast in September 2022. The contestants in the episode wereLisa Snowdon,Kitty Scott-Claus,Katya Jones andRyan Thomas.

In 2022, Haugh replacedMonica Galetti as a judge onMasterchef: The Professionals, for the fifteenth series only.[6]

In March 2023, Anna was co-host of Grilled, a podcast by The Staff Canteen, where she interviewed a number of hospitality personalities including presenter Leyla Kazim[1] andSaturday Kitchen'sMatt Tebbutt.[2]

In 2024, Haugh opened a wine bar calledThe Little Sister at the chef'sMyrtle restaurant in London.[7]

In early 2025, Haugh presented a fifteen-part cookery series calledAnna Haugh’s Big Irish Food Tour, which aired onBBC One Northern Ireland.[8]

Inspirations

In 2023, during Series 5 Episode 1 of the Grilled podcast by The Staff Canteen, Anna revealedMonica Galetti was her favourite TV chef judge explaining that she was true to herself, and paved the way for women in the industry and high-end competitions.[9]

Explaining why Monica influenced her, Anna said: "It was big shoes to fill but she paved the way for a female judge to come in and it should not be something to be taken for granted."[9]

In 2019, Haugh won Best International Chef award[10] at theFOOD AND WINE Awards.

Myrtle Restaurant, located on Langton Street,London was awarded 3AA Rosettes in 2021.[11][12]
