Mame-Anna Diop (born February 6, 1988) is a Senegalese-American actress and model.[1] Her first major roles were as a series regular onThe CW supernatural mysteryThe Messengers (2015) and theFox thriller24: Legacy (2017). Diop achieved further prominence for portrayingKory Anders / Starfire on theDC Universe /HBO Max seriesTitans from 2018 to 2023. Outside of television, she headlined the psychological thriller filmNanny (2022).

Biography

Diop was born inSenegal and moved to theUnited States at the age of six.[2][3] She moved to New York at the age of 16 to pursue a career in acting and modeling.[3] In 2006, she made her television debut in a recurring role onEverybody Hates Chris. In the following years, she guest starred onLincoln Heights,Whitney, andTouch. Diop had a role in the 2013 filmThe Moment.[4] In 2015, Diop starred as Rose Arvale in the short-lived supernatural drama seriesThe Messengers.[5] Later that year, she appeared in the thriller seriesQuantico and was cast in a recurring role onOprah's drama seriesGreenleaf.[6] In 2017, Diop was a series regular in the series24: Legacy.[7][8] In theDC Universe superhero seriesTitans (2018–2023), Diop plays the extraterrestrial princess and heroineStarfire.[9][10] In 2018, Diop was cast in thehorror filmUs directed byJordan Peele.[11]

On October 16, 2022, Diop was given the Spotlight Award at theNewport Beach Film Festival.[12]
