Angelo Gigli (born 4 June 1983) is an Italian former professionalbasketball player. He has also represented theItalian national team internationally. Standing at 2.09 m (6 ft10+1⁄2 in), he was a left-handedpower forward andcenter.
Gigli was born inSouth Africa, where his father worked. He moved to Italy when he was two years old.
He began his career with Fortitudo Roma. He then played forReggio Emilia,Pallacanestro Treviso, andLottomatica Roma. In July 2011 he signed withVirtus Bologna.[1]
On 5 August 2013 Gigli signed a two-year contract withEmporio Armani Milano.[2][3] In February 2014, he was loaned toPallacanestro Reggiana for the remainder of the season.[4] In August 2014, he returned to Emporio Armani.[5]
Gigli sign with theSerie A2 clubBasket Ferentino on 29 July 2015.[6]
Gigli was a member of the senior men'sItalian national basketball team from 2005 to 2012 playing inEuroBasket 2005,2006 FIBA World Championship andEuroBasket 2007.[7]
