Ang sa Iyo ay Akin (International title:The Law of Revenge /transl.What is Yours is Mine) is aPhilippine television drama series broadcastKapamilya Channel. Directed by FM Reyes and Avel E. Sunpongco, it starsJodi Sta. Maria,Iza Calzado andSam Milby. It aired on the network'sPrimetime Bida line up and worldwide onTFC from August 17, 2020 to March 19, 2021.

The series was also available for streaming onNetflix in 2021.[3]

Premise

Ellice is the beloved daughter of a successful businessman who is blessed to live a luxury life, while Marissa enjoys a simple life with her mother working and living at Villa Ceñidoza. Despite the vast difference in their social statuses, the two women become inseparable best friends. However, one fateful night changes the course of their lives forever, which will ruin their friendship and become sworn rivals.

The project was first unveiled in January 2020 with a working titleWhat Matters Most.[7] The full trailer was released on March 11, 2020, on ABS-CBN, with the final title confirmed asAng sa Iyo ay Akin.[citation needed]

The series was also filmed onABS-CBN Soundstage (Horizon IT Park) located atSan Jose del Monte,Bulacan.

During theenhanced community quarantine in Luzon,Iza Calzado was reported to be hospitalized on March 25, 2020, due topneumonia and tested forCOVID-19.[8] Three days later, she was confirmed to have afflicted with the virus disease.[9] After another test, Calzado tested negative for COVID-19 and was discharged from the hospital on March 30, 2020.[10]

Release

Ang sa Iyo ay Akin was scheduled to premiere on March 23, 2020, as part of ABS-CBN'sKapamilya Gold afternoon block.[6] However, it was postponed due to thelockdown caused by theCOVID-19 pandemic, and theshutdown of ABS-CBN.[11][12]

After a long delay,Ang sa Iyo ay Akin premiered on the new cable channelKapamilya Channel,[13] as part of thePrimetime Bida evening block, on August 17, 2020.[14] In October 2020, the series entered its free-to-air broadcast onA2Z, in partnership withZOE Broadcasting Network.[15] For the last ten episodes of the series, it was also simulcast onTV5 from March 8 to 19, 2021.[16]

Reception

Ang sa Iyo Ay Akin has garnered 253 million total views onYouTube as of March 2021, and was the most watched program oniWantTFC throughout its run.[17] It also became the most popular TV show onNetflix Philippines upon its premiere on the streaming platform.[18]

  1. ^The series was originally going to be aired onABS-CBN, but did not push through due to therestrictions imposed in response to theCOVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, and theshutdown of the said network. The show ended up on Kapamilya Channel instead, with simulcasted onA2Z andTV5.
