Andrew KerrOAM (born 2 April 1954)[1] is an Australian formerwater polo player who competed in the1976 Summer Olympics, the1980 Summer Olympics, the1984 Summer Olympics, and the1988 Summer Olympics.[1]
Andrew Kerr has 3 siblings, brothers Peter, Bill and sister Cecilia.[2] His mother was Petronella Lynch (d. 2004) fromMildura. His father was Henry 'Harry' Kerr (c. 1921-July 2013), a retail clerk who reached the rank ofFlight Lieutenant during service with theRoyal Australian Air Force in World War 2.[2] 'Harry' flewKittyhawks withNo. 76 Squadron RAAF[3] and was also a flight instructor.[2]
In 2009, Kerr was inducted into theWater Polo Australia Hall of Fame.[4] He was awarded theMedal of the Order of Australia in the 2014 New Year's Day honours list.[5]
