Andreas Mies (German pronunciation:[anˈdʁeːasˈmiːs]; born 21 August 1990) is a German professionaltennis player who specializes in doubles.
He is a two-timeGrand Slam champion, having won the French Open doubles title in both2019 and2020 alongside compatriotKevin Krawietz.[1] The pair also reached the semifinals at the2019 US Open and qualified for the2019 and2020 ATP Finals. Mies reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 8 on 4 November 2019, and has won five doubles titles on the ATP Tour. He played college tennis for theAuburn Tigers,[2] and has represented Germany in theDavis Cup since 2019.
Mies won his firstATP Challenger Tour doubles title at theGarden Open in Rome, partneringOscar Otte.
Mies made his ATP World Tour andGrand Slam debut at theWimbledon Championships in doubles with partnerKevin Krawietz as a qualifier, where they lost in the third round to the eventual championsMike Bryan andJack Sock despite having two match points.[3][4]
Mies won his first doubles title on the ATP Tour at theNew York Open, again with Krawietz.[5]
He and Krawietz won sensationally theFrench Open doubles title as unseeded players, defeating the French duoJérémy Chardy andFabrice Martin in the final.[6] This victory made them the first all-German team in theOpen Era to win a Grand Slam title, and the first sinceGottfried von Cramm andHenner Henkel in 1937.[7][8]
At theUS Open, he and Krawietz reached the semifinals.[9] They won their third title at theEuropean Open in Antwerp.[10]
Mies made his debut at theATP Finals with his partner Kevin Krawietz.[11]
Mies and Krawietz successfully defended theirFrench Open title, defeatingMate Pavić andBruno Soares in the final in straight sets. Having won the title twice, they had not lost a match at the French Open together.[12]
Mies was sidelined for the a considerable part of the 2021 season as a result of a knee injury.
At theBarcelona Open, he won the title with Krawietz.At theFrench Open, Mies finally lost his first doubles match at the tournament when he and Krawietz suffered an upset loss in the first round.

Mies andJohn Peers reached the quarterfinals of the2023 Australian Open.WithFabrice Martin he reached the semifinals of theMonte-Carlo Masters.[13] WithMatwé Middelkoop he reached the semifinals of the2023 French Open for the third time.
Seeded 12th withNeal Skupski at the2024 French Open, they lost in the first round to eventual quarterfinalists, the Czech/Chinese pair ofTomáš Macháč/Zhizhen Zhang.
PartneringAlexander Erler, Mies won the doubles title at the2024 Generali Open Kitzbühel, defeatingConstantin Frantzen andHendrik Jebens in the final.[14]
