Andrea Giannini (born 18 December 1976) is a retiredItalianpole vaulter.
He won the bronze medal at the1997 Mediterranean Games, and the gold medal at the2001 Mediterranean Games.[1] He finished tenth at the2003 Summer Universiade, and competed at the1997 World Indoor Championships and the1997 World Championships without reaching the final.[2] He became Italian champion in 1997 (indoor) and 1998.[3]
His personal best jump was 5.65 metres, achieved in July 1997 inMilan.[2][4] After retirement, he became a sport journalist and athletics coach. He coaches the paralympic championOscar Pistorius during his trainings in Italy.
He has won2 times the individualnational championship.[5]
