Andrea Deck (born February 5, 1994) is an American film, television and theater actress. She trained at theLondon Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She is best known for her voice role asAmanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, inAlien: Isolation, as well as her role as CIA agent Jenna Bragg on theShowtime seriesHomeland.
Deck was born February 5, 1994, and grew up inGrosse Pointe,Michigan. At the age of 15, she began attending theInterlochen Center for the Arts summer camp until she graduated fromGrosse Pointe South High School at the age of 18. She subsequently moved to London, England, to study at theLondon Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[1][2] She graduated with a bachelor's degree with honors in professional acting.[3]
Deck's first acting role was in the filmIn Love With a Nun, which was screened at the Short Film Corner of theCannes Film Festival in 2009.[4][5]
In the same year, she was cast as Allie inRoland Joffé'sThe Lovers, and as opera singer Charlotte Watson in the filmThe Devil's Violinist directed byBernard Rose[6][7][8][9] in which she showcased her classically trained singing voice, as well as appearing inRidley Scott'sThe Counselor later that year.
She later went on to play silent-movie starMabel Normand inITV'sMr Selfridge.[10] In April 2013, she co-founded London-based production company Tough Dance Ltd.[11]
Deck voicedAmanda Ripley in video gameAlien: Isolation, which also starredSigourney Weaver and the cast ofRidley Scott's original film.[12][13][14]Alien: Romulus, directed byFede Álvarez, drew significant inspiration fromAlien: Isolation.[15][16] Later, she reprised the role inAlien: Blackout. She is rumoured to return to her role as Amanda Ripley in Alien Isolation 2 which is in early development by Creative Assembly. She also starred in a film adaptation ofAugust Strindberg's playCreditors, directed byBen Cura, playing writer Chloe Fleury, as well as being a producer on the film.[17][18][19] In 2015, she played the lead female character in British horror filmThe Ghost Writer, due for release in 2016.[20]
In 2018, she played murder victim Mahalia Geary inBBC2's adaptation ofChina Miéville'sThe City & The City. In 2020, she played CIA agent Jenna Bragg onseason 8 ofHomeland.
