In 2004, Barela joinedOhio Valley Wrestling as "Ramón". Heteamed with Raúl Loco as "Los Locos".[3] The team won theOVW Southern Tag Team Championship twice,[4] but eventually split, after which Barela adopted the new ring name Low Rider. As Low Rider, Barela portrayed a hot headed crowd favorite who would mix his interviews with bits of Spanish. Barela eventually worked to main event status, winning theOVW Heavyweight Championship twice through victories overApoc and James "Moose" Thomas.[4]

Barela made his debut forTotal Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) on March 13, 2011, at theVictory Roadpay-per-view, where he appeared as aplanted fan and interfered in aFirst Blood match betweenHernandez andMatt Morgan, helping Hernandez pick up the win.[5][6] On the following edition ofImpact!, the alliance of Hernandez,Sarita andRosita, known collectively asMexican America, faced Morgan,Angelina Love andWinter in a six-personstreet fight, after which Barela once again entered the ring and attacked Morgan.[7] On the March 24 edition ofImpact!, Barela was officially presented as the newest member of theanti-American group and was given the ring nameAnarquia.[1] On the July 14 edition ofImpact Wrestling, Anarquia and Hernandez defeatedThe British Invasion (Douglas Williams andMagnus), with help from Rosita, to become the number one contenders to theTNA World Tag Team Championship.[8] They would receive their shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship on August 7 atHardcore Justice, but were defeated by the defending champions,Beer Money, Inc. (Bobby Roode andJames Storm).[9] Two days later, at the tapings of the August 18 edition ofImpact Wrestling, Anarquia and Hernandez defeated Beer Money, Inc. in a rematch, following interference from the "Mexican Heavyweight Champion"Jeff Jarrett, to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship.[10][11] On September 11 atNo Surrender, Anarquia and Hernandez successfully defended the title againstD'Angelo Dinero andDevon, following interference from Rosita and Sarita.[12] Later that month, Mexican America began feuding withInk Inc. (Jesse Neal andShannon Moore), stemming from their match at Sacrifice in May, where Hernandez had legitimately injured Neal.[13][14] On October 16, during theBound for Glory Preshow, Mexican America successfully defended the TNA World Tag Team Championship against Ink Inc.[15] The following month atTurning Point, Anarquia, Hernandez and Sarita defeated Ink Inc.'s Jesse Neal, Shannon Moore andToxxin in a six-person tag team match to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championship.[16] On the following edition ofImpact Wrestling, Anarquia and Hernandez lost the TNA World Tag Team Championship toCrimson and Matt Morgan.[17] On the following edition ofImpact Wrestling, Hernandez and Arnaquia failed to regain the title in a rematch.[18] On December 6, it was reported that TNA had sent Barela back to Ohio Valley Wrestling, which had recently become the promotion's new developmental territory.[19] After spending three months off television, Anarquia returned on the March 22, 2012, edition ofImpact Wrestling, when he and Hernandez unsuccessfully challenged Magnus andSamoa Joe for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.[20] Anarquia's last appearance was on the April 26 episode ofImpact Wrestling, losing toKurt Angle via submission.[21] The following day, Barela's profile was removed from TNA's official website.[22] His departure from the promotion was confirmed four days later.[23]
