InGreek mythology,Ampyx (Ancient Greek:Ἄμπυξ) orAmpycus (ἌμπυκοςAmpykos,'woman's diadem, frontlet') was the name of the following figures:

• Ampyx, also called Ampycus or Ampyce^[1] was a Titaresian seer, the son ofElatus^[2] orTitairon, eponymous founder of the town ofTitaron.^[3] He fatheredMopsus with thenymphChloris (daughter ofOrchomenus^[4]) orAregonis.^[5] His son Mopsus joined theArgonauts after he was slain.^[6]
• Ampyx, father of the seerIdmon in some texts.^[7] Otherwise, Idmon was called the son ofAbas or the godApollo byAntianeira. Not to be confused with the above-mentioned Ampyx who was the father of another seer, Mopsus.
• Ampyx or Ampycus, anEthiopian priest ofDemeter (Ceres). He appears inOvid'sMetamorphoses^[8] and was slain byPhineus during a fight between Phineus andPerseus (seeBoast of Cassiopeia), just before Phineus was turned to stone.
• InOvid'sMetamorphoses, Ampyx was one of theLapiths who fought thecentaurs atPirithous's wedding. He killed a centaur named Echetlos.^[9]
• Ampyx, son ofPelias, descendant of KingAmyclas ofLaconia. Through his sonAreus, Ampyx became the ancestor ofPatreus who foundedPatrae.^[10]
