Town of ancient Thrace

Ammoi (Greek: 'ΆμμοιAmmoi) was a town ofancient Thrace, inhabited duringByzantine times.[1]

Its site is located east ofBakırköy inEuropean Turkey.[1][2] The name, meaning “The Sands,” is likely derived from its location on the shore of the Sea of Marmara.[3]
