Alvignano is acomune (municipality) in theProvince of Caserta in theItalian regionCampania, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) north ofNaples and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) north ofCaserta, at the foot of theMonti Trebulani.
Its main attractions are the Basilica ofSanta Maria di Cubulteria, a rare example ofLombard architecture (8th and 9th centuries) and theAragonese Castle.
Nearby is the ancient town ofCompulteria.
