Altheim (German pronunciation:[ˈalthaɪm]) is a town in easternAustria. It is situated within theDistrict of Braunau am Inn in the traditional region ofInnviertel in the state ofUpper Austria. It lies on the small river known as theMühlheimer Ache, a tributary of theRiver Inn.

In 1985archaeologists discovered the ruins of aRoman villa in farmland just outside Altheim. In the town there is a Roman museum dedicated to these findings, theOchzethausArchived 2009-03-14 at theWayback Machine.
