Algestrup is a smallrailway town with a population of 933 (1 January 2024).[1] The town is located in the southern part ofKøge Municipality inRegion Zealand,Denmark, just north of the boundary between Køge andFaxe Municipality, on theLittle South railway line betweenKøge andHaslev.
In spite of the fact that a railway station is located in the southern part of Algestrup, the station is not named Algestrup butTureby, named after two manor housesTurebylille andTurebyholm in Faxe Municipality about 2 and 4 kilometres south of the station.
