Alfred Morgan "Dan"Boone (July 23, 1893 – March 1, 1961) was an Americancollege football andcollege baseball player, athletics administrator, and insurance executive. Boone played football and baseball at theUniversity of Alabama. He served as the actingathletic director for the university during the 1919–20 academic year, following the resignation ofB. L. Noojin.[1]

Boone was selected to the1917 College Football All-Southern Team as anend and the1919 College Baseball All-Southern Team as apitcher.[2][3] A native ofBerry, Alabama, he graduated from the University of Alabama in 1919 with a Doctor of Law degree.[4] Boone assistedXen C. Scott in coaching the1919 Alabama Crimson Tide football team.[5]

Boone later managedBirmingham, Alabama office ofUSF&G. He died on March 1, 1961, inNew York City.[6]
