Alfred Luff (5 April 1846 – 24 February 1933) was an Englishcricketer. Luff was a right-handedbatsman who bowled right-armroundarmfast. He was born atKew,Surrey.
Luff made threefirst-class appearances forSurrey in 1867, the first of which came againstYorkshire atThe Oval. His second appearance came against theMarylebone Cricket Club at The Oval, while his third appearance came against Yorkshire atBramall Lane, Sheffield.[1] He scored 25 runs in his three matches, at anaverage of 5.00 and a high score of 8.[2] With the ball, he took 2 wickets at abowling average of 55.50, with best figures of 1/25.[3] He later stood as anumpire in two first-class matches in 1874, between theGentlemen of the South and thePlayers of the North, and theGentlemen against the Players.[4] He also stood in sixMinor Counties Championship matches between 1898 and 1902.[5]
He died atTonbridge,Kent, on 24 February 1933.
