Alfonso González Fernández (born 16 July 1951), commonly known asAlfonsín, is a Spanish retiredfootballer who played as adefender, and amanager.
Born inCortegana,Huelva,Andalusia, Alfonsín began working as a coach withUD Almería B, being promoted toTercera División in 2002. On 26 January 2004, he was appointed at the helm ofthe main squad, replacing firedCasuco.[1]
However, Alfonsín only remained one game in charge, being later replaced byLuis Ángel Duque. After the latter's resignment in April he returned,[2] narrowly avoiding relegation despitefinishing 13th.
Alfonsín returned to theRojiblancos on 29 January 2005, replacingFernando Castro Santos.[3] After being in charge for five matches, he becameFabri's assistant the following month.[4]
In November 2007, Alfonsín returned to Almería's reserves,[5] still in the fourth level. A third spell befell in the2010–11 season, and he led them to a comfortable mid-table position inSegunda División B in their first experience.
