Alexandra Jiménez Arrechea (born 4 January 1980) is a Spanishactress. She became popular for her role as África Sanz in thesitcomLos Serrano.[1] She starred in the TV seriesLa pecera de Eva, broadcast between 2010 and 2011. Between 2015 and 2016 she hosted thestand-up comedy showEl club de la comedia [es].
She was born inZaragoza on 4 January 1980.[2] When Jiménez was young, she did ballet and trained at the Zaragoza's Estudio de Danza María de Ávila and the Madrid's Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza.[3] She became a professional ballet dancer when she was 15 years old. After an injury while she was working for theCuban National Ballet, she set out on an acting career.[1]
Jiménez studied acting inMadrid at theEscuela Universitaria de Artes TAI [es] and made small appearances in television series such asPeriodistas,Policías, en el corazón de la calle andCompañeros during her studies.[3] In 2004, she joinedLos Serrano, where she played África Sanz.[4]
Between 2010 and 2011, she starred in the TV seriesLa pecera de Eva, playing the main role of Eva Padrón, a psychologist dedicated to solving the problems of a group of teenagers.[5][6] She replayed the popular role of Eva in 2012 in the finale of the first season ofFrágiles [es].[4][7]
She replacedEva Hache as hostess of the TVstand-up comedy showEl club de la comedia [es] inLa Sexta, hosting the show between 2015 and 2016.[8]
