Alex Amankwah (born 2 March 1992) is aGhanaianmiddle-distance runner specialising in the800 metres.[1] He attended college and competed in athletics at theUniversity of Alabama, where he set a school record and was aFirst Team All-American in the indoor 800 metres.[2] He qualified for the 800 metres at the2015 World Championships inBeijing,China but was unable to compete due to visa issues.[3][4] He also represented Ghana in the4 × 400 metres relay at the2015 African Games.[5]

Amankwah representedGhana in the 800 metres at the2016 Summer Olympics inRio de Janeiro,Brazil.[6][7] Amankwah representedGhana in the 800 metres at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.[8]
