Alan Richard Sutherland (4 January 1944 – 4 May 2020) was a New Zealandrugby union player. Anumber 8 andlock, Sutherland representedMarlborough at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, theAll Blacks, from 1968 to 1976. He played 64 matches for the All Blacks, of which three were as captain, including 10 internationals.[2]

Sutherland died in South Africa on 4 May 2020.[3]
