Alan Frederick Fletcher (28 October 1917 – 1984) was an English professionalfootballer. He played in theFootball League forBournemouth andCrewe Alexandra.
Fletcher joinedBlackpool in January 1937,[1] later joiningPort Vale[citation needed] without appearing for either side. He moved toBournemouth, playing twelve times during the 1938–39 season.[1] He joinedBristol Rovers in 1939,[1] playing all three games beforeWorld War II stopped League football in England.
He joinedCrewe Alexandra in September 1947. He made just one appearance before joiningMossley as a player-coach.[1] He left Mossley to become player-coach with Irish sideSligo Rovers at the start of the 1949–50 season.[3] He returned to Mossley asplayer-manager in August 1950.[2] Mossley struggled in theCheshire League under Fletcher, and he was sacked in May 1951.[2]
